Dividends are payments released by corporations to their shareholders, generally as a way to distribute profits as a reward for their investment in the company.

A company should declare dividends only when its decision-makers are sure that it has profits that it can pay dividends from

Generally there are two types of dividend - an Interim Dividend paid during the year and a Final Dividend paid at year-end. Directors can declare and pay dividends. 

How to prepare a Dividend Voucher


From the Main Toolbar, go to Company

Select the Company from the list

Select Members

Click

Select Add Dividend.

To view or reprepare previously recorded dividends you can select Review Dividends.

Instructions


CAS 360 will display the Add Dividend screen.

Field
Explaination
Date Declared Date the dividends declared by the company directors.
Use Date Declared as the Document Date? Toggle YES to use the date declared as the document date of meeting minutes. 
Share Type Choose a company share type which dividends will be paid for.
Amount type Select either Dividend Per Share or Total Dividend.
Dividend Amount Enter the amount paid per share or the total amount paid to all shareholders (depending on the amount type selected).
Dividend Type Final (issued at the end of the fiscal year), Interim (issued before AGM), Special (separate from the typical dividend cycle) or Other.
Dividend Payment How the dividend is paid to the Company Shareholders. Select either Dividend Paid in CashDividend Credited to Loan Account or Other.
Payment Date Date the dividend is paid.
Payment Currency Enter the Currency Symbol (for example SG, Singapore Dollar $)

By selecting Save & Prepare Documents. CAS 360 will display the Document Production screen and automatically select the documents required

Select the mceclip0.png icon to change any of the document settings. Different options will appear depending on the document type.

Cover Letter

  • Document Date - Update the date of the document.
  • Letter Addresses  - Select the officer addressed.
  • List in bullet point or in a paragraph.
  • Document Template - Change the template used to create the Cover Letter.
  • Export to Word. 

Dividend Voucher

  • Form Signatory - Select the officer signing.
  • Decimal Places - Set the decimal rounding.
  • Document Template - Change the template used to create the Dividend Voucher.
  • Export to Word

Declaration of Dividend Resolution

  • Document Type - Switch between a Minute or Resolution.
  • Minutes Options - Include chairperson appointment, meeting attendees & previous meeting minutes. Select Chairperson, Meeting Address. 
  • Resolution Date Options - Set the date of signing, set the date format, choose to include Resolution Date in the heading.
  • Document Date - Update the date of signing.
  • Document Template - Change the template used for the resolution.
  • Export to Word.

Notice of Members Meeting

  • Signatory - Set the officer signing.
  • Meeting Address - Review meeting Address.
  • Meeting Time - Set the time of the meeting.
  • Meeting Date - Set the date of the meeting.
  • Notice Date - Set the date of the notice.
  • Document Template - Change the template used for the members meeting.
  • Export to Word.

Members Minutes or Resolution 

  • Document Type - Switch between a Minute or Resolution.
  • Minutes Options - Include chairperson appointment, meeting attendees & previous meeting minutes. Select Chairperson, Meeting Address. 
  • Resolution Date Options - Set the date of signing, set the date format, choose to include Resolution Date in the heading. Choose whether all representatives must sign resolution. 
  • Document Date - Update the date of signing.
  • Document Template - Change the template used for the resolution.
  • Export to Word.

Member Consent

  • Document Date - Update the date of the document.
  • Document Template - Change the template used for the Member Consent.
  • Export to Word.
Listing of Dividend Vouchers Paid 
  • Export to Word
