Lodgement timelines
When submitting a company registration via CAS 360, Companies House will electronically verify the details before the company is formed. Despite completing all required fields, your application may still be rejected for various reasons.
Companies House operates on a strict "cab rank" rule, processing both Same Day and Standard service applications in order of receipt. If the application contains sensitive information or restricted words, processing may take longer.
Consider using the Same Day service for urgent registrations, often processed within minutes.
Common Reasons for Application Rejection by Companies House
-
Incorrect Registered Office Address
Ensure the registered office matches the location of the company (e.g., Scottish companies must have Scottish addresses). -
Initials in Officer Names
Full names must be provided; initials like "Rupert T. Bear" will be rejected. -
Unrecognised Director Occupation
Enter a recognised occupation; vague or unknown terms may lead to rejection. -
Mismatched Director Residence Details
The country of residence must match the residential address provided. -
Commercial Premises for Residential Address
Provide a genuine residential address for directors. -
