We've updated CAS360 to support the significant changes to Companies House filing requirements that take effect on 18 November 2025. These changes stem from the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 and will impact how you file certain forms.
What's Changing?
1. Mandatory Identity Verification
From 18 November 2025, certain individuals will be required to verify their identity with Companies House and obtain a Companies House Personal Code, which must be included on relevant forms.
Who needs to verify:
Directors
The equivalent of a director (including members, general partners, and managing officers)
Persons with significant control (PSCs)
Authorised Corporate Service Providers (ACSPs) - also known as Companies House authorised agents
Anyone who files for a company (for example, a company secretary)
When do you need to verify:
New directors and PSCs appointed on or after 18 November 2025 must verify their identity before or at the time of appointment
Existing directors and PSCs must verify their identity on the first Confirmation Statement filed after 18 November 2025 (you have 12 months from this date to comply)
How to verify your identity:
Individuals can only verify using the following options.
Option 1: Using the 'Verify your identity for Companies House' service
Individuals have the option to verify their identity via Companies House
When a client has successfully verified, they will receive a unique Companies House Personal Code. This code is personal to them, not the company or a company they work for.
Option 2: Using an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP)
Clients can ask an ACSP (such as an accountant or solicitor) to verify their identity on their behalf.
BGLiD is now available in CAS 360: Verify client identities directly within CAS 360, using trusted datasets for ID, AML & Adverse Media Checks. Verification results are attached to the contact record for easy tracking.
What happens when you verify:
See Adding a Companies House Personal Code to a Contact.
CAS 360 now provides a way to record whether an individual’s name matches the verified Companies House name.
If the name does not match, you can select a reason from a predefined list. This information is saved against the contact and can be easily used in future forms.
2. Updated Forms
From 18 November 2025, you'll need this code when:
Filing a Confirmation Statement (CS01)
Being appointed as a director (AP01)
Becoming a person with significant control (PSC01)
Filing various other forms with Companies House
The following forms have been updated in CAS360 as they require Companies House Personal Codes from 18 November 2025:
CS01 – Confirmation Statement
PSC01 – Notice of individual PSC
IN01 – Application to register a company
AP01 – Appointment of director
CH01 – Change of director details
AD04 – Change of location of company records
PSC02-PSC07 – Various PSC changes
3. Removal of the Occupation Field
You'll no longer need to provide business occupation details for company directors when registering appointments.
This field has now been made optional in CAS 360.
4. Abolition of Internal Registers
Companies no longer need to maintain registers of:
Directors
Directors' residential addresses
Company secretaries
Persons with significant control (PSCs)
All this information must still be filed with Companies House and kept up to date.
This information will now be held solely by Companies House. However, you must still maintain your register of members (shareholders).
The following Company Registers can be prepared from CAS 360:
Full Company Register Set
Register of Auditors
Charges Register
Debentures Register
Director Shareholding Register
Members Register
Officers Register
Prescribed Interests Register
Register of Substantial Shareholders
Register of Seal Entries Report
The following Trust Registers can be prepared from CAS 360:
Register of Beneficiaries
Trust Events Register
Register of Trust Relationships
Register of Unitholders
5. Register of Members Changes
Companies must still maintain their own register of shareholders (members) at their registered office or single alternative inspection location. The option for private companies to hold this register centrally at Companies House will be removed. See Changes to UK company law
Registers of members will need to include standardised information - for individuals, their full forename and surname with a service address; for corporate members, their corporate name and service address.
See how to generate a Register of Members/Shareholders in CAS360.
